A couple weeks before Easter, Adeline Robertson and her mom Jamie attended the rh • kids Baptism class. Adeline is in kindergarten and had expressed an interest in getting baptized. The class is meant to give kids a clear explanation of what baptism is and why we celebrate it, as well as give them the opportunity to decide to get baptized during Easter services.

During the class, they read Acts 8:26-40 which tells the story of Phillip and the Ethiopian; a story of a man responding to the good news of Jesus with a passionate and eager heart. Phillip shares the gospel with him as they travel together, and after coming to a river, the man proclaims: “Look! here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?”

Adeline was so inspired by this story that she told her mom she couldn’t wait until Easter to get baptized. She turned to Jaime and said, “Mommy, I want to get baptized today!”

After the class, her parents reached out to their friends and family, explained the situation, and invited them all to come celebrate Adeline’s baptism in the community pool. You can watch the heartfelt moment below.
